Charging above MRP for Avin Milk

This complaint is against Jayalatchumi Stores 3/240, New No.3/215, Shop No.5, Manapakkam Main Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu

The shop owner charges Rs15/- for a half litre poly pack of Avin full cream milk which bears an MRP of Rs14/-, Rs11 for a half litre poly pack of toned milk which bears an MRP of Rs10.25 and Rs14/- for a poly pack of half litre Standardized milk which bears an MRP of Rs13/-.

Upon asking for the reason for the same the lady (shop owner's wife) starts fighting and the reply generally is a very harsh "Do you want it or not? "

As in the nearby locality very few people sell Avin milk, the shop owner is taking advantage of the situation and it is creating a situation of monopoly in the market.

The amount being overcharged may seem to be very paltry but considering the the number of packs the shop owner sells daily, it adds up to a bigger sum.
