FALSE REports

On a periodic check, as advised by my physician, for Platelet counts-Haematology was done for my daughter Rufina aged 9 years on 04.11.2010 in Bharatscans- Royapettah under REfNO: 101070268, the results were given as 34, 000 per cu.mm. (ref range 180, 0000-4, 00, 000). The child was not ailing. It was a mere precautionary check. My physician seeing the report, opined the child was healthy and active but advised to repeat it another lab. Similar test on 9.11.2010.with 'Kalayani Multi Speciality Hospital- Mylapore, Chennai, reported 'Platelet counts 1.77 lakhs / Cu mm'. Today, my physician confirmed the earlier report was utterly wrong.

Calling the Bharatscan on the printed phone number 45555555, 28418333 the receptionist or whoever attending the call picked up late and forwarded to another line who too picked up at the last or so ring. I had mentioned the discrepany of the Haematology reports and sought to know if the Platelet counts could spurt enormously without medication in four days. The senior personnel answering it said, nothing can be said over the phone 'come over with your reports to our lab for discussion tomorrow morning'. I was asking please to give only an answer to the query but he short back come in person. When I asked whom I should meet in person, if a Professional Biochemst would be available, he curtly replied come to our lab you will be shown the right person.

I am employed and have already taken leave and off twice or more for investigation and collecting reports. Is it prudent to go over again for a technical clarification and spend time which obviously will be a cover up answer.

1. The finding reported is patently erroneous and misleading.

2. The voice answering the complaint clearly wants to hush up and does not regret and admits it were a mistake.

3. If it were a mistake of rare type, would not the officer or doctor be generous atleast to answer that Platelets count may surge in five days.
