Advance not Refunded for cancellation of treatment

Hi,

I went to Lever Ayush in Besant Nagar, Chennai for consultation and they suggested me a treatment costing Rs.10000. Mr. Karthik who is still with the same company as accountant / receptionist, prepared the bill and asked me to pay a token advance amount. I have Paid Rs.4000 on the same day, bill dated 23/07/08 product sales invoice no: 382

Due to several factors, i was out of country for quite some time and i decided to cancel out the treatment and asked Karthik to repay me the advance amount i paid earlier. he told me that he needs to consult with his Franchisee Owner and have been duping me since. He, later on told me that the Franchisee has been changed and it is impossible to repay the advance amount.

Doesn't this look like a clear case robbery?
