Delhi High in a land marking judgement has held that private telecoms company come within the ambit of consumers protection act and affected consumers can approach to Consumers Forum for their grievances. while a case was filed against Bharti Air Tel for not providing two email id and the password while giving broadband Internet connection. The Consumer Court did not entertain the complaint and State Commission in Delhi also refused to accept the complaint. However, Delhi HIGH Court on 6th Feb set aside the order of the State Commissioner directed the Consumer Court to decide the matter on merit. This is grate relief to consumers across country.
