Defaulter shown by the company on the cibill

I have finance my laptop through bajaj finance in the month of march 07 for two years and i have paid the amount of rs. 6000 as a down payment but after paying for 21 months I have stoped my cheques and told them to clear from my account but they put my name as defaulter on the cibil site now I can't apply for any loan I have applied but it always come rejected through hdfc bank due to my name is there on the cibil as a defaulter that i havnt paid the amount in the month of dec but as per my bank statement they have already got the money through cheque after my continuous compalint they clear my account and finally settled it as a zero value. Please help me clear my name from the cibil site so that i can improve my credit
