Settlement / ill treatment / improper response

Dear Sir/Madam,

I bought a shoe form BATA, Gariahat Shop (in front of Anandmela) at Kolkata, West Bengal on 28th March for Rs1399/=. There was some defect, which surfaced within 10 days of use. I contacted the concerned store on 02.06.09. They took the shoe and the receipt and gave me another yellow slip number 4145.

I was also asked to come on the next Sunday (i.e. 07.06.07) between 12 noon to 4 pm or any day after that.

I visited the store on Tuesday 09.06.09 at 5.00 pm. I was restated to come between 12 noon to 4 pm only on any day. It was not possible for me to attend to this thing during office hours. So I insisted on the settlement at that time only.

I was made to sit for fifteen minutes unattended. Then the man on the cash counter said to some one, “Ek to dekhe nay, manche na (in bangla)”, which mens, “just attend to him, he is not listening”.

After that, the same person on the cash counter told me that I would get a settlement of 50%. I was not convinced on this. He told me to visit your outlet at S.N. Banerjee Road and talk to some Mr. Chatterjee. He also didn’t bother to tell me that he was sending me to an office basically. Also, he insisted me to abide by the 12 noon to 4 pm timing for all settlements.

I visited this place and cold meet the security guard only as the office hours were over. This security guard told me to visit Mr. Chatterjee on Wednesday or Tuesday only at that office. He also told me to give a call after 11 pm before visiting.

Sir, with all the due respect to you, I am fed up with BATA product and services. Every one in this organization says that he can’t help and he is just an employee and in a helpless state. I have already spent number of days and good amount of money chasing the case. I hope you will also appreciate that no one would like a 50% refund for buying some defected product from a company.

I would request you to give me 100% settlement. Please let me know when should I go to this store and collect my full and final settlement.

Please don’t make me run from pillar to post. I have better things to do in life. I also repent and apologize to have bought your product. Please make an end to this ill treatment.
