BENETT COLEMAN & CO LTD (B&C) being a reputed media group I never expected this from it in my wildest apprehensions.
A month back (around first week of dec'08) an executive visits me with a scheme offering from B&C.
That, he offers TOI (TIMES OF INDIA DAILY NEWSPAPER) annual subscription @ Rs 199/-, he says that it was a clubbed offer if I also take a magazine scheme for a year and subscribe for it too.
I agreed and gave him 2 cheques, as asked, one for Rs 199/- and another for Rs 325/- in favour of BENETT COLEMAN & CO LTD.
I was told that the scheme will start from 1st jan and I shall be getting delivery of the newspaper by the hawker and the magazine shall be sent thru post.
The hawker and the executive vanished and suddenly I got a call in first week from the executive TOI office kolkata saying that they cannot offer the said scheme for TOI daily scheme. I said OK. but being a habitual I contacted another newspaper delivery boy and gets TOI and ET (ECONOMIC TIMES) on a daily basis. ITts never a morning till I have read TOI & ET!
I receive another call that in the 2nd week in reference to only the scheme of the magazine. I declined and said that if both the offers are valid then I go for it or else not to process and take it as cancelled. The executive confirmed and greeted.
To my UTMOST SURPRISE my account got debited today dated 24/01/09 by the Rs 325/- amount against the chq that i had handed over to the executive thet he said to be returning to me. THIS IS NO DAY ACCEPTABLE TO ME. I feel being duped!!
While the Rs 325/- payment taken fraudulently
Such kind of company/executives that dupes customers needs to be brought to task.
I want an apology and my money back immediately. attending immediately otherwise I shall take legal actions deemed fit fo which i shall not be responsible.
