Insiting upon ration card for cylider booking

Dr sir,

i am a bharat gas consumer for the pas 27 years and using LPG (domestic) at home.

I have moved around states and presently in TN after being a IAF person for 15 yrs.

Now for gas cylinder booking time and again they ask for ration card.

Is it a must?

secondly, can i not have an secondly connection, as have a large family with my in-laws, having two house Nos., two water connections, two EB connection... etc???
