This is to bring to the notice of media, about the pathetic roads in bombay port trust area, going to lbs college of maritime studies.the roads are having big big potholes, with an unknown depth, with tremendous amount of water logging in the area.the trucks and buses do get regularly trapped in this zone and there is always the danger of topping up of vehicles upside down.this has been the condition of roads from say last 1 year but the goverment is waiting for a big big accident to happen so that it can look forward to taking some action.the area is fiIlled wih slums, and it feels like the most backward zone in the state.considering the fact that this road is being used regularly by professors of lbs college of maritime studies and there is also a residential zone nearby, and nearly 1500 students travel in and out of this zone everyday, does it seem to goverment that an incident in this zone can lead to jeopardising of life of a number of students.building sky scrapers and flyovers in the economic capital of the country is not the solution to minimising the problems but the overall standard of the state has to come up.does the goverment realise that maritime education can take a backseat if colleges happen to undergo the fate of being at the back of such accident prone dangerous roads.also the transporatation of goods also happens to lay under the brink of dangerous accidents and delay, thus leading to overall loss of shipping industry. " THE DEVELOPMENT DOES'NT MEAN SUBJECTING ONE AREA TO LUXURIES AND LEAVING ALL OTHER ZONES TO POVERTY, BUT IT MEANS OVERALL DISTRIBUTION OF BASIC AMENITIES TO THE ZONES IN A MANNER THAT ALL OF THEM RISE EQUALLY OVER A PERIOD OF TIME AND IN A STANDARD AND EQUALISED PROGRESSIVE MANNER "
