Carrier Air Conditioner Window model - Optima Global Series (2 T)
Sub Standard product and poor support

Influenced with the Carrier brand, I opted for a 2 tone Carrier air conditioner and purchased it on 02-08 at a cost of Rs. 29000.00.(Sl. no.0031) Just after the expiry of the guarantee period, I entered into an AMC contract with the dealer. Subsequently the GE make fan motor went hay wire and the dealer- M/S The Climate Makers, 5, Mera bai Marg, Lucknow-226001, replaced it. The motor, in fact, was a badly repaired one which ran at nearly one third of the defined RPM, that too at single speed. The air delivery, being too low was of no use. After repeated and hectic efforts, the AMC contractor of Carrier replaced this motor with another repaired/refurbished one which had a slightly higher air delivery. In fact my woes and nightmare with this equipment had just started. The dealer, over the period, has replaced all the original Carrier components- be it the fan motor, the relay, the thermostat, start, and run capacitor, and the selector switch with cheap, substandard devices causing frequent disruptions. More so, most of the high current carrying wires have carelessly been cut to pieces and joined loosely causing frequent burnouts. Capacitors and switches have been replaced with either inadequately rated substitutes, or by- passed altogether. As on date, the fan motor has been replaced three times, the capacitor two times, the relay, two times, the on -off switch two times, but still the unit is non functional. This air conditioner has in fact become a junk. I request the company to kindly look into the matter.
