Compaq presario cq 40
Laptop not starting, not booting

I bought my laptop barely a 20 days ago but its windows showed some problems n i formatted the same and tried to reboot the system with my original windows xp cd... but when i insert the disc, it gives the following message..

windows have detected some problem and is shutting to prevent damage to ur computer

if this is the first time u r seeing this error restart the computer..if the problem persists follow the following steps

check for any viruses on pc..uninstall any newly installed hard drives..

check for hard disc configuration

if problem persists check for hard disc corruption usig CHK DSK/F

Every time it is showing the same

plz help me out
