American Express Bank Credit Card Division

Dear Sir,

I am After American Express Bank Credit Card Division.

I had taken a Card From Amex in 1991 and never used it. There was one BPL Mobile Bill for around 2174.54 iin 1993 which I too paid directly to BPL therefore asked the bank to cancel this entry. Therafter in May i got a letter from American Expess that they will temporarily credit this amount. After this i i surrendered my credit card cancelled and never used the card. Thereafter I too never got any correspondense from bank for any outstanding. To my surprise when i wanted to take a loan through Axis bank couple of months back they have reported that i have this credit warning raised against me by Amex. I called up American Express Gurgaon and also sent them Letter but never got a reply. The credit report in Cibil Reads as below

Would Be greatfull If you could help me to clear this matter. I do not mind mind still paying the amount even though i am not at fault.

It Looks like now these banks are taking CIBIL as a means of troubling customers to recover what they want if even if customer is not at fault.
