Food in Kerala Railway stations
Insufficient/deficient quantity

I am a regular traveller in Kerala trains.
Previously, the caterers were packing lunch packets for consumers in foil paper. They have now started packing the same in aluminium boxes and this has resulted in reduction of quantity. I do not know what is the prescribed quantity by Railways. But my experience is that the food (mainly rice) in the aluminium box is less than what used to be served in packed foil paper.
On the fish curry served with the food - one need to use a microscope to find a fish piece in the curry! They call it fish curry, but the fish part is so small and tiny, it is actually a misnomer.
The snacks - a vada or other single piece of snack cost Rs.5/-, - these charges are exhorbitant. Similar items, one can get in outside city hotels for lesser price.
The less said about the quality of food items, it is better.
Railways should impose more stringent quality and quantity control on all food items served - after all the price charged is more than adequate for the items being served.
Hope some one look into the matter.
