Fortune Bay Resort
No Refund on Cancelled Booking

This is in reference to a recent trip my husband and I made to Port Blair, Andeman Islands. I want a sincere apology and a refund of l nights accommodation. I explain below.

Originally I booked Fortune Bay Resort (Con. # WCT865865727; booking confirmed 17 May) arriving December 30 and departing January 6 (7 nights) through a booking agency, Hotel Advisor. Unfortunately our flight was changed so that we did not arrive till the following day (Dec. 31).

Repeated emails sent in good time to the agency (I kept copies) requesting that they change the dates resulted in no response whatsoever. My last desperate email was dated December 5 which I sent a couple of days before leaving for India. MY EMAILS WERE IGNORED

Upon arrival at Fortune Bay Resort, we found that Fortune Bay Resort had cancelled our room. Fortunately, they were able to provide another room, albeit far inferior to the one that we expected to get, given that we had booked the room 7 MONTHS earlier.

Further, upon my inisistence Fortune Bay claim to have tried many times to contact the agency (sending 15 emails I was told, also repeated calls to their office). All to no avail. THEY WERE IGNORED. The management at Fortune Bay told me that they had had trouble with that company many times before and tended not to use them. In any case, they told me that they had never paid them any money from the payment I made back in May. I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE. Therefore, they could not refund the one night's accommodation which was cancelled (in plenty of time). Hence, I am out of pocket just under US$100!!!

This is completely UNSATISFACTORY. I want my refund and an apology for this lack of competance or deceit.
