WORST SERVICES AND NON-REPAIR OF FAULTS CAUSED

On 19.09. I sent my Accent Car bearing Registration No. DL 4CM 1417 for servicing and repairs of general faults that may be noticed. I received several calls from Mr. Nitin Grover,

Mr. Ashish (Works Manager) and Mr. Rejeev (Workshop Supervisor) intimating me about the requirement of Change of Brake Pads, Lever Assembly-Parking Brakes, Plug Assembly-Spark, Helogen Bulbs and other Bulbs and Engine Oil with Filter Assembly etc.

I enquired from all the above officials whether these changes were enough for smooth running of the vehicle. To which their reply was ‘ Yes! These changes were absolutely necessary’.

I further enquired if they had noticed any other fault in the vehicle. To which the reply came No other fault was detected and no other part / parts were required to be repaired or changed’.

All the three persons assured me that after doing the above-noted repairs, the vehicle will operate, run and drive to my complete satisfaction. The required changes / repairs were allowed to be done. I received an Invoice No. B2008080945 dated 19.09.08 for Rs.5146/-. Since I was away to Kolkata, this amount was paid by my daughter-in-law vide Cheque No. 561607 drawn on HDFC Bank Ltd. The vehicle could not be inspected & tested as my daughter-in-law doesn’t know driving.

After returning from Kolkata I tested the car and found the old defects and lots of fresh faults, which were never noticed earlier. These faults were immediately notified to Mr. Ashish (Works Manager) and he was further instructed NOT TO PRESENT THE CHEQUE TILL THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AND REPAIRED TO MY COMPLETE SATISFACTION.

Despite my having notified the faults the vehicle was not picked up, till 3rd of Oct 08, for repairs and rectification of the faults noticed only after the vehicle arrived back from workshop.

It was only on 03.10.2008 that the car was picked up through Mr. Mahender (Driver) for doing necessary repairs caused due to mishandling and negligence of your work shop staff..

I had shocking surprise when I received telephonic calls from Mr. Ashish and Mr. Rajeev who enumerated various parts / components (CMP Sensor, Timing Belt, Door Lock set and Brake Pads, replaced on 19.09.08, needs to be changed again due to the creaking noise) required to be changed. On my enquiry, as to why these faults were not intimated to me earlier, none of them had any answer.

I had no option but to call the vehicle back and report the matter to you for redressal of my grievance.

I am of the firm opinion and have sufficient reasons to believe that these parts / components were changed / damaged during negligent handling / repairs / servicing of the car on 19.09.2008.

You are, hereby, called upon to make good the losses incurred due to negligent handling and careless servicing of the vehicle, while the vehicle was in the workshop on 19.09.08, failing which I will be lft with no option but to approach the competent consumer forum / court, print and audio-visual media so that others don’t fall prey to the sinister designs of your workers.
