Mismatch in TDS

In the Annual Tax Statement for F.Y. 08 there is mismatch of Rs. 3600 in the TDS and the Govt. (Income tax Deptt.) records which i came to know through an e mail by the Income Tax Deptt. I had deposited original Form 16 along with the ITR. There is no descrepancy in my records, my employers records and the bank records (where TDS was deposited). Still the IT deptt is constantly writing me mails. As far as I know it is the responsibility of the employer for TDS and depositing it in the Govt. account. What i fail to understand why I am being harrased by the Income Tax Deptt. with no fault of mine.
