Credit Card - false charges

I have applied for one card and not using it from last 1.5-2 yrs. Also i asked them to stop it and register the call. Still it was active and got the call for payment. It must be account renewal charges as i didn't had any transaction over a year. Now recovery agent calling and troubling me every month. will HSBC stop this cheap practices to collect money? I am sure thats the main reason of showing profit even in this financial crisis.
