Check book never received

An nri account with hsbc bank in gaiahat, calcutta was opened about a month ago. The check was submitted on may12, 08 and was cashed in on may 13, 08.next day. but unfortunately untill todaymy checkbook/welcome pakege never received received from hsbc. calling at call cente I received nothing but a blunt ananswer. Please tell me the reason, why I should not change my said account with citi bank nri or iccci bank nri getting ten times faster service? thank Yoy. Soumitri/June 16.
