Lifetime sim card deactivated

I have purchased hutch life time prepaid connection (9923145023).

now i found that the sim is deactivated without any reason.

on approach to customer care center, they told that the sim was deactivated because, its validity is expired and the same number has been given to another customer.

Upon that I dialled the same number and found that the number given to another customer is not in use.

How is this possible.

it only means that the hutch service is cheating the customers
