Indane gas connection problems in Chennai

Sir,

I have shifted recently from Bangalore to Chennai and stay in Velachery and I have Indane gas connection in my name from last few years. While getting the connection in Chennai distributer has asked for a letter from stating that if i could not produce ration card/ No card certificate in 60 days, he will disconnect the connection.

I am not applying for new connection, i understand for getting new connection i need to produce ration card but why should i produce ration card for transfers cases.

Help me in this regard
