Respected Railway Minister,

A couple of years, Indian Railways introduced a middle berth among side berths. After a lot of hue and cry they were eventually removed. For fixing the middle berths, the upper berths were re fixed at a height which almost touched the roof of the compartment. Even after the removal of middle berths, most of the compartments still have those upper berths so high touching the roof. As such, side berths are short and difficult to get one accomodated. Unless one is a aerobic or a circus specialist, one cannot reach the roof touching upper side berths. To get out the berth, through a narrow space, between the fan, tube light and the roof, is a Herculean task. Some compartments (98066 WR as for eg) dont even have steps to climb! I request the authorities to lower the already elevated side berths touching the roof top to their previous postions.
