This is to draw your attention to an important matter. Train no 648 Ernakulam to Shornur passenger is destined to arrive at 18. 25hrs at Edappilly railway station. You may be aware that as this is the only train stopping at Edappilly in the evening more than 300 passengers (more of ladies and patients) from Edappilly daily depends on this train. On 7/4/10 the train departed at 18.18 hrs from Ernakulam junction arrived at North and departed shortly. But at 18.20hrs a goods carrier train stationed at Edappilly all day long started to Ernakulam and as it has to cross to the track to south 648 train was stopped before Edappilly station. Finally 648 train reached Edappilly at 7pm. It appears to all of as a very unfair action because if the goods train had waited for 5minutes more at Edappilly and let the 648 reach Edappilly station, this delay could have been avoided easily. Whatever be the technical explanation for this action, this shows the lack of care of the railway towards the commuters of passenger train. This is not the one odd incident as most of the days 648 train reaches edappilly much later than the scheduled time. This is troublesome for passengers at Edappilly station as they have no other option for travel. Please use your good office to set the things right, so that this passenger train runs in time and need not be delayed due to incompetency and unjustifiable acts of the personal at this end.
