I had booked train tickets urgently for journey on 30 Sep 2008 from Firozpur, Punjab to Jabalpur, MP as my mother in law had passed away on 30 Sep at 1230 hours at Jabalpur. I was to commence the journey on 30 Sep at 2145 hrs by Punjab Mail and was to reach Bina junction on 01 Oct at 1450 hrs and was given a linked ticket for onward journey from Bina junction to Jabalpur where it was mentioned that invalid without original ticket but the system faltered and I was given a ticket where the journey from Bina should have commenced on 01 Oct at 0020 hours and for obvious reasons I had to face a terrible scene as railway authorities refused to permit me on the train leaving on 02 Oct at 0020 hours as I was not holding a valid ticket though they admitted to system being at fault but were again not in a position to grant me refund.
