Delay in issuing passport

My name is Amrish Krishan Puri. I alongwith my wife Swati Puri and daughter Ankita had applied for Passport on 3.3.2008.

Till today i have not received any passport, or whereabouts of that. I am receiving standard reply that passport has been sent for police verification etc.

I am at my wits end. Kindly let me know what to do and whom to approach.

I am disgusted with our government office.
