Dear Sir,
I have a current account with you at Salt Lake City Branch, Kolkata (branch code 018) & account no is : 00182000016401.
I was running this account to have the card swipe facility at my business.
After a while I got better deal from other bank and had to freeze transactions for some time. Recently, I was talking with the concerned Manager of HDFC to restart business soon with same facility that I am having from other bank.
I got a phone call, dated 26t. Oct, from a woman from her cell # 30201362 from Kolkata itself, claimed to be officer of HDFC Credit department. I was asked to pay Rs 1300/- as “DUES” .I requested her to send a demand in writing. Out of shock, she started using abusive language which I can not print her. The same voice called my wife at home and used same notorious language. After a while she called my office and abused my subordinate too. In all cases, she used filthy words. All conversations can be heard from the SIM card of the said cell# i.e. 30201362.
All this happened out of the blue as my records says that I do not owe this bank.
While having repeated calls, I had to complain to local police station and made written complaint. Some other account holders say that such behavior is very common from this bank. And the matter is under investigation now. Please see here attached is the copy of police G/D No 1562. When Police station and I called back this cell # 33 – 30201362, to verify who is the caller, same voice claimed her identity as three different names in three different occasions:

I have requested that if any demand made in writing, I must comply and agreed to pay nothing to any strange caller by voice -demand. I am sure that bank management never does encourage such practice, what these callers are doing.
We have couple of accounts from my family, relatives and friends and every body was shocked after learning this incident. All of are waiting to hear your advice in this regards.
