Cheque not credited even after 20 days

I have a savings bank account in SBI, Doranda, Ranchi branch (A/C no. 010923684238) I have deposited an account payee HSBC cheque no.522206 on 29.08.08. The amount has been debited from the payee's account on 10.09.08. However till date the amount has not been credited to my account.

On enquiry the AGM of the doranda branch informed that the postal delay is beyond his control.
