GPRS and Battery Backup

I have purchased Micromax X250 model from Meerut. Shopkeeper assured me that i can use GPRS facilities connecting with my laptop but when i asked pcsuit of this phone he said next day i will give u CD but next day he said u can't connect this phone with ur laptop only u can use gprs facilities in phone only. and about battery backup he said standby backup is for 6 days but i fully charged this phone it gave backup only for 15 hrs when i complained about this he said go to service center and tell them i can not help u. Now kindly tell me about the GPRS facilities and realy backup
