No information and faulty system of reservation

Dear Sir,

I am regular commuter between Bhubaneswar (BBS) and Vijayawada (BZA). I have serious issues with Indian Railways which I detail here under.

1. The railway enquiry telephone numbers are not changed in your web site leading to lot of confusion.

2. There is only one counter at the Bhubaneswar station for enquiry and the man is rude perhpas over burdened by the multitude of visitors over there.

3. I booked my ticket with PNR No. 4364270580 for travel from BZA to BBS by train No. 201 on 24th June. I checked up the IRCTC web portal for the PNR status and the poratal dispalyed a message that the train is cancelled. As I would get the refund automatically, I did not do anything for this ticket but booked myself by train No.1019 for the same day in 3AC. I reached BZA station 15 minutes earlier and noticed in the board that train No. 201 is actually going upto BBS and I can travel by that. Having reached the station I prefered to travel by Konark and wanted to cancel the ticket on train No. 201. The reservation staff tld me that it can not be cancelled at the station but is to be done only on the net. While I am not bothered for the refund I am concerned that this berth could be given to somebody else. Further, when any train is cancelled why that no information is given to passengers. That too when so many trains get cancelled due to floods why cant we have a separate enquiry number for giving specific information. Even I tried to get info from the IRCTC customer care at Delhi. It was waste of my time and money to talk to them. On my second attempt after getting them online, I could talk to them but no solution was given. The line was abruptly disconnected.

4. Now I booked for my travel to BZA from BBS on Falaknuma on 3rd July (PNR No. 6216760647). Now I am not sure whether the train runs on that day. Apprehending no train on that day I again booked on train No. 1020. Before this I tried to get information on actual position but no help was available. If I am to cancel the ticket now I would lose money for no fault of mine. Is this not ridiculous?

5. If the trains are not running why did IRCTC give the reservation at all? Dont you have information with you also? Who will answer my questions?

I would request you to do something on war footing to improve customer service at least in cases like this. I can not imagine the plight of families travelling with kids and old without proper reservations for no fault of theirs.
