NOKIA/3600 Handset
Defective / inferior Camera

Dear Sir / Madame,

I had purchased a Nokia Mobile Phone Model No: 3600, ID No: 355706020691575, from M/s Maru Mobile Gallery, Shop No. 1, Grain Merchant CHS, Sector 17, Vashi, Navi Mumbai-400703, on 20th Aug. ‘2008 vide Invoice No: 10698. While using the phone camera we discovered that its camera is not functioning properly as the picture quality is very poor and always have a green tinge especially on the edges. Despite trying out all the setting we could not solve this problem. When we complained about this to M/s Maru, we were asked to contact Nokia Customer Care centre in Vashi. Today i.e. 26th Aug. ‘2008 when we took the phone to Nokia Customer care centre we were put in touch with Mr. Rajesh, who after examining the phone told us that “ all the handsets of this model have this inherent problem and he can not do anything about it and to take the set back to the dealer. Also he said that the dealer should have told you about the inherent problem with this model while explaining the functions of the set.” The dealer had explained all the general functions except the camera operations at the time of selling the set. We also never thought it important as we had been using Nokia sets since last 9 years (all family members own one or other Nokia models & all are fully satisfied). When I asked him to give me in writing about this problem – he flatly refused. When I approached M/s Maru and gave him the set he also refused to solve the problem and insisted that all the pieces are like this and he took a photograph with identical set and said he can not do anything about it.

It appears that NOKIA is marketing defective models in Indian market and have instructed the dealers / service centers to bully the customers into accepting defective models. I feel it’s highly unethical and it erodes the reputation of NOKIA, the Brand.

I would like to know if you can help solve the impasse and ameliorate my agony as I feel cheated by the Dealer / Nokia Customer (un) Care / NOKIA.
