Cannot hear incoming voice/ringtone even when it's volume is set to high

I have purchased Nokia in sep'07back for secondary use. Now I have to use it havily so realizing gravity of issue now. I cannot hear incoming voice/ringtone even when it's volume is set to high.
What shoulld I do?
