Invalid IMEI numbe

Hi

I have bought a Nokia 1108 in 2006 by an authorized dealer of Nokia. I can see my 15 digit IMEI numer in my cell but i am getting message from my service provider (idea) that my IMEI number is invalid and my services will be bared. Why should i suffer for this invalid IMEI issue if i have bought it from recognised company like Nokia.
