BL-5c Battery replacement

I submitted online request for replacement of bl-5c battery (serial no. 06032115141402555818) in the year 2007. I had received a package from the company in the 2nd week of Jan. But to my utter disgust, I found the battery case empty Since there are new cases of accidents concerning the battery coming up daily, i am scared to use my cellphone. Please advice.
