Hi,
I have Nokia N70 and its switch is not working. It seems to have a loose connection. As result the phone does not turn on.
I visted the Nokia Care in Koramangala hoping they will resolve the issue. As my phone is out of warranty they asked me to pay Rs 50 towards physical inspection. I paid the money and gave the phone for physical inspection.
After 30 minutes, they called me and told me that, they will have to replace the switch and re-install the software and all the data will be lost. I was able to understand that the switch needs be replaced, however i was not able to figure out why they have to re-install the software.
When i questioned the center manager for the same, she responded that replacing switch alone will not solve the problem. I am not sure how did they come to this conclusion. Then i demanded them to give me their investigation in writing. Then they said well, the switch replacement may work. But if in case if does not, then they will have to reinstall the software. I demanded the report for inspecting the phone. They refused to give anything in writing.
Though we pay charges for the inspection, we dont get anything back as a report and i am not sure if they really have qualified engineers to look into the issue.
Now i am clueless on how to get the required information from them
