Nokia N85 - Pathetic Nokia Service and customer care!!

Hi,

Its really disgusting to see one of the reputed company having a customer unfriendly business model when it comes to their service and customer care. I had bought a Nokia N85 on 08th Feb IMEI num 356376021646637. Within couple of days I found it had many issues!!

1. The Tranciver was faulty. The callers on my phone used to complain about my voice being very fady and it was difficult for me as well to her their voice about 90%of the time, the voice amplitude used to go up and down intermittently.

2) The FM transmitter was not working at all.

3) The system used to crash often even when I had not installed any new apps.

I reported these issues to the Nokia Care Center (Shilak Inc. R.T Nagar, Bangalore -32), and they gave me the first job sheet (I do not remember the Job Sheet number). After 4 days I got a call from them saying my phone has been repaired. I asked them on how the problems have been solved for which they said they have upgraded the s/w, and replaced the buzzer (probebly they meant the tranciever). I could not varify on the solution as I didn't carry the battery with me. Upon reaching home I found that the tranciever problem was solved, however the FM transmitter still did not work! I returned the phone immediately to the same service center, they did not make a new Job sheet this time. After couple of days I got it back saying its fixed. This time I checked the FM transmitter at the service station and it worked. However after a day it again stopped working.

This happened about 3 times (once the service center even broke phones front panel when doing the repair!!).

After this I insited on a new jobsheet (Number : 305465550/090331/9) and asked them for the replacement (it was already repaired 5 times by this time). After lot of calls and escalations to the customer care center the phone was sent to the so called head office. I hoped they will replace it this time. However within 2 weeks I got the call from the Nokia Care, claiming the issue has been fixed by the head office and it is not replaced. I went to the Care center and found that it was still not fixed!! I did not take the phone home and asked them for the replacement again. As usual the Nokia Care guys said they will send it to the head office and if its repairable then it cannot be replaced!! Those guys still thought it is repairable! what a joke.

I also raised a complaint on the nokia customer care (2-3W9NXB). After this I had to go on a travel and could not follow up for about 30 days. However i returned on 8th May and called up the Nokia Care center to find out if my Mobile has been replaced. Surprizingly they could not trace the phone and promised to call me back in 1hour, which never happened. Once I did not get the call back from the Nokia Care, I called up their customer care and learnt that it has been already dispatched from the head office on 15th Apr itself! The Nokia Care took about 24hrs to trace my Mobile and asked me to come and collect it. Finally I was relived thinking that I am out of my misery. But that was not the case, the replacement phone turned out to be a piece of crap! (IMEI : 356376020538744). There were scrathces all over it, and it was a used phone! what the hell!!! How can nokia replace a phone which was used by the customer only for about 20days (as most of the times in these last 3 months it was in the Service center itself), with this piece of shit!!! I refused it out-right and asked the Nokia Care guys to send it back to the head office again!!

Disgusted, I called up their customer care number again today (09th May), and the guy on the other side tells me that "according to Nokia India policy we cannot give you a new replacement"!! huh...! Eventhough I knew, no where in the world, no reputed compny will give a used replacement set, I asked him to get me the records of this replacement mobile that they were offering me,

1. Where did this mobile come from

2. If its used then who has used it? and what was the reason that it was returned!

3. How old is it?

For all this his answer was we cannot provide you the details!!! what the hell!!

I am not going to collect the mobile from the Nokia Care ceter untill I get a satisfactory replacement set. Can ou guys help in my fight against this injustice?
