I had purchased a N97 handset and realized that it has a charging problem the very next day as the charge drained out in 5-6 hours. On taking it back to the Nokia priority dealer for return, I was told that I have to go through the service center and no returns/ exchanges are possible. I used the phone in that condition for couple of weeks as submitting the phone for repair then was not possible for me. After few days I noticed some more problems with the phone and one day it just stopped charging and went dead.
I submitted the phone for repair to the Kolkata, Salt Lake Sector V service center on 12/10. I was told the phone had to be sent to Gurgaon for repair and was called back to the center on 24th Oct. On checking I realized that none of the reported complaints were addressed. The customer care rep told me that there seems to be a problem with the handset and I would get a replacement handset - but the phone had to be sent back to Gurgaon again.
Since the 24th of october I have called the center repeatedly but not recieved any update about the status of my phone. I want to know if this is the normal mode of treatment meted out to customers who have placed their trust in the company through the purchase of an expensive 33000 Rs. handset??
