Subject: CONSTRUCTION OF SIPHON UNDER THE SAS NAGAR –MORINDA RAILWAY LINE FOR PASSING SEWERAGE WATER FROM CHANDIGARH AND SAS NAGAR TO THE TREATMENT PLANT CONSTRUCTED ACROSS THE RAILWAY LINE

Sir,

It is brought to your kind notice that we the residents of SAS Nagar (Mohali) badly suffering from the pollution created by a Nallah passing through various sectors of this town in which sewerage water from Chandigarh as well as SAS Nagar is being thrown causing great health hazard to the residents living in the adjoining sectors. CITIZEN WELFARE FEDERATION SAS NAGAR took up this matter with the concerned Greater Mohali Area Development Authority and as a result of our efforts a Sewerage Treatment Plant has been constructed across the railway line for useful disposal of the sewerage water.

In this connection a Siphon required for crossing the sewerage water under the railway line was approved for construction by the concerned railway authorities and a sum of Rs 4.5 Crores has already been deposited by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority with the concerned Railway authorities for the past six months but no Siphon construction work has so far been initiated on the ground.

We very humbly request your goodself to kindly issue necessary instructions to the concerned Railway authorities to complete the construction of Siphon under the railway line at the earliest so that the sufferings of the residents is redeemed
