Picture tube failure

Dear Sir / Madam,

We have Onida 21 inch Oxygen (KY series) TV set Vide model No. CO21OXFU Sr. No.4033248 & the product was bought 4 years back and recently it started showing vertical lines out of no reason and after consulting with engineer he gave us a report that the picture tube has gone.

However, a picture tube replacement will cost us more than half of the buying price of the TV set. So we decided to go for a new one but not Onida this time for sure. As last we have bought the onida product because the corporate office is in Mumbai and assuming the best service

Further, we like to know……. Are the Onida products designed to become out of order just after the warranty period? Is there anything the company can do about the issue? I know the most probable answer will be NO and know that the company is not responsible for problems after the warranty.
