Phillips vaccuum cleaner
Machine not working

I purchased a vaccuum cleaner on 30th september from stara bazaar. it is worth Rs.3000/= and from day 1 it is not working when i complained about it to the above said store they say it is not their headache and we must go to phillips service centre for this which is far away from our house and it is not possible for me to go again and again for this

so i want to know are the suppliers not liable for the product.
