Hi,
This is in reference to the discrepancies in my last bill dated 04 June 09.
I recieved a lot of SMS from 64611050 / 64611015 / 64611020 / 64611099 / 64611030 on 14th May 09 within a span of some 6 hours stating "Thanks for downloading Theme / Polyphonic Ringtone / Java Game from Airtel Live WAP service. You've been charged Rs. 30 / 99 / 50 / 15. Enjoy http;//gofun.in"
I was worried that why is my account been charged unnecessarily when I am not downloading anything. Hence I called up the customer-care at 121 and complianed about the same (Reference No. 910845090). I was told that my account is not showing any transactions and I was required to call back to customer-care after a few days.
I called up the customer care again after 5-6 days (Reference No. 913517575) and was told that this may be an issue with the Airtel WAP service, and I need not worry, and that when my Bill will be generated then it can be waived-off by Customer care.
After My bill was generate, it has more than Rs. 1000 charged extra under VAS services. I called up the customer-care (Reference No. 924197209), but I was told that the amount has been charged as I would have certainly downloaded something. I was very upset with the Customer-Care handling of the issue as they are not ready of help at all, when they themselves said earlier that I need not worry and it can be taken care of.
Then I went to the Airtel Outlet at Noida Sector-12 and logged a compliant. It was very difficult to log a complian as no-one was really paying attention to the issue and the representative said that it is my fault. I somehow managed to talk to them and log a compliant (reference no 21878677) and was promised a resolution till today (16th June 09).
I recieved a call from customer-care today, and have been told the same again, that I've downloaded these stuff and there's nothing that can be done. I am clueless now.
I've been using this corporate connection from approximately 4 years now and have been paying my bills properly, whatever is the amount. The amounts have even gone up to Rs. 17000 and I've paid them as they were legitimate expenses from my side. But I would noy pay any amount that I've no knowledge of usage from my side. This must be an issue in your system itself. Even yesterday i recieved a message from 6461130 saying that "Thanks for using (life_pack, subscription) subscription service on Airtel WAP. You've been charged Rs. 30". I don't even know what is life_pack, subscription in Airtel WAP and I've no knowledge of this.
I want somebody in Airtel to take this resposibility and make adjustments in the billing as well as make sure that such issues don't happen in future. I've also looked up the internet and found a lot of people with the same issues.
