Delay in receiving passport

respected sir, myself farisa mazhar have applied for passport on 19 /6/08 . my passport file no is w253942-08 it has already been dispatched on 26/8/08 but still i didnt receive it can u reply me wer is it lagging behind .can i go to near by post office n take it away or what can i do plz inform me through e mail.
