Old iPhone 4

My name is Mridula Mahna.. I am a house wife... My husband is in Dubai he sent me a used iphone for communication, but i got it in damage possition, when i complaint to courrier company they told us that this was not insured you can talk to company they will give you 3rd party insurance claim, can any one guide me what should i do..
