Housing society upper flat leakage
Leakage from upper flat

People

Hi,

We are staying in Runwal Plaza from last 18 years, our upper flat owner always keep tenants in his flat and tenants used acid in kitchin sink, bathroom & toilet for cleaning purpose. 15 years back one of the slab in passage area fall down during that period i am 7 month pregnant of my son. The above flat owner got this flat through Government Quota as he is working in Mantralaya, in Maharashtra. I also came to know that he had 3-4 flats in different society's through Government Quota. I complaint this matter ACB through our friend about leakage problem from upper flat. He repaired my flat within 2 days of time. Before that he even denied to inspect our flat and also argued with us and our society committee members several times. After the incident he never kept any tenants in his flat.

Now, from last 2 years there is another tenants started staying same upper flat and they are relatives of upper flat owners. We once again requested them to repair all the leakage area before the leakage from upper level. But they never entertainment our point. Now the matter is so worsened that we are not able to cook our food in kitchen area as due to leakage all paintings are dropping regularly in cooking area. For that we covered newspaper in our ceiling and toilet area.

Last month we once again requested them to repair the leakage at their flat but they are asking 50% compensation to repair the kitchen sink area/toilet & bathroom (Approx. 11000/-). But they never agreed for damage compensation occurred by them to our flat.

Even our society's committee members are helpless as the owner of the upper flat uses abusing languages with them.

Kindly guide us what to do for these people's? What is the rules and regulations so we can fight with them.
