MCD
Eporting confirm case of dangue due to overflowingb pipes

Politics & Government

To,

The Additional Commissioner (MCD),

Sir,

This is to bring to your notice that the storm water pipe behind A1/13, SFS DDA Flats, Panchsheel, New Delhi – 17, has been getting blocked every 3-4 months since 1996. We have been complaining to the relevant department of MCD but each time they do a temporary job. The situation has become worse since last one year and the condition has detoriated further, as some of the neighbours are discharging their sewage water into the storm water pipes. The sewage water has collected and has caused unhygienic conditions, breeding of mosquitoes, seepage into the neighbouring houses and foul smell. The MCD Authorities have come to the area on a number of occasions and have opined that the pipes need to be changed but nothing has been done to this effect, till date. The situation has now become very grave as one of our family members has been detected with dengue. You are requested to take action immediately; else I’ll be forced to resort to seek remedy under the law and also invite the media to look at the situation.
