Mobile phone theft

I had filed a complaint to Madivala Police Station regarding theft of my mobile (Nokia E-72) on May 11. Its been 6 months and whenever I go to the station to follow up on the same, I'm always told the same thing that they haven't found anything on the case. They don't even bother to look into my case number or refer any documents. The Police are the only people that we can resort to for help in such a theft case and they're least bothered about this. I'm very disappointed. Not only did I lose a 16k worth mobile phone, I also lost faith in the whole SYSTEM. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I still remember when I had gone to file the complaint, they didn't even ask for my phone IMEI number. Since I was aware of tracing a phone with the IMEI number I insisted on them taking down my IMEI number.

I hope someone helps me out on this.
