Non Acceptance of Cash

This is to bring to your kind notice that regional office at Pitam Pura Delhi refuse to accept cash as application fee and insist for Bank Draft only. We came to know this only when all the documents were checked and cash was to be deposited.

How can the department prefer Bank Draft as compared to Cash? Why should a consumer go to Bank for getting draft for such small amount Rs.1000/- or Rs.600/-? The department may refuse to accept cheque because the cheque may be dishonoured, but if the cash is tendered it must not be refused.

Suitable instructions be issued to the concerned office for acceptance of cash also.
