Chairman of a Co-operative Housing Society ltd in Bandra
Chairman creating nuisance for members by using his knowledge of society bye-laws

Religion

To whomsoever it may concern.

I have been living in my society from the time i was born (35yrs). Today all our members are retired and old and we youngsters have been made Associate Members. our senior members of the society are old and are willing to induct us youngsters into the Managing Comittee (MC) to learn and take care of the Society proceedings in future.

this was decided and some of us were nominated for the key positions by the members and the Managing Comittee in the last AGM.

PROBLEM: the chairman of our society who had bought his flat in our building just four years back and was immediately made chairman as he had vast knowledge in Society Law and since no one was willing to take over the vacant position, has been creating a big nuisance for all of us.

we as younsgters had requested the MC to take some precautionary measure for the growing thefts in the locality (security), water tanks to be repaired and procurement of some important documents of the Society that were washed off during the rains in July.

the chairman now feels that we are becoming a botheration and interfernce for the MC, whereas the Secretary is totally agrees to our legitimate demands and in support of us. the chairman is presurising the secretary to stop our intervention in the Society matters as we are still not inducted in the MC. But as per the AGM we were introduced as the next generation to take over the responsibilities.

the Chairman is trying to avoid us for sure and he is surely having his personal interest by not having we youngsters on board.

he has been thrown out of two societies for creating problems in our Colony itself. then after buying a flat in our society he had filed a law suit against our society while he was a chairman for taking Rs.25000 as a donation, for which he was reimbursed. but last year when a person purchased a flat in our society he himslef demanded Rs. 2, 00, 000 from him as donation stating that it was for betterment of the society, for which all the members voted against him and then he suggested that for recieving such donations we could ammend the Bye-laws with proper permissions and this could be advantageous to the society.

The members objected and declined his cunning suggestions.

We have this man the Chairman of the our society as a biggest Problem on our hands, Is there a way we can have this man thrown out of his position sonce he is creating nuisance and for using his knowledge of law for his own personal benefits.?

Kindly suggest
