Ecovery of legal charges

I am a member in Marvel Co op Hsg Society, Andheri (w) Mumbai 53.I challenged the maintenance/ recovery proceedings before Registrar Co Op Mumbai. For that reason Society has charged me an amount of Rs. 58, 000/- in my maintenance bill by way of legal charges which they have incurred on the lawyer to defend for society. Am i bound to pay such amount? Henceforth, no member in Co Op Society will file any case/proceedings in any court. How to recover this illegal charges? Even if there is any resoulation, how that can be legal? Pls advice.
