NEW METERS

Today, I read in the newspaper about DJB extending the deadline for installation of new meters in place of of faulty meters. Another way to take the consumers for a ride. I fail to understand how would a family having only one female member will run pillar to post for getting this thing done. Also, as the deadline would approach near, the shopkeepers and the plumbers will start charging exorbitant price for the meter and the services. WHY DOSEN'T DJB TAKE THE ONUS OF REPLACING THE METERS LIKE IN CASE OF ELECTRICITY COMPANIES??? This is sheer harassment and another cost pressure on the helpless cititzens of Delhi who are already reeling under huge inflationary pressure with the sky rocketing prices of basic goods. Its a shame.
