Worst Experience on a package tour with Classik Travels

Oct I traveled with Classik Travels for a 12 day Kashmir Tour (Srinagar, Pahelgam, Katra, Delhi), one of the big tour agents in Kolkata. They promised many things including good travel arrangements, good food, good accommodation and overall good management. But from the very first day, we started suffering when we arrived new Delhi railway station. We have to wait for 2 hours to find out the local classik tour manager. The saga continues throughout next 10 days and the worst thing happens on the return day from New Delhi. They promised and informed that we will get our return ticket on New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express on our arrival at Delhi from Jammu. As communicated we were waiting for the courier at Delhi till 1 PM (4:30 Pm was the scheduled departure) and they continued saying the same thing that the courier would arrive any time but despite repeated reminded / follow-up they didn't give the name or contact number of the courier. Rather their cell phone got switched off from 1 PM and we were in deep shit with our family and children (in fact my 2 yr old daughter were sick last 3 days and I was desperately looking for returning home). We somehow managed alternate arrangements in next 2/3 hrs and reached Kolkata after around 30 hours. Got relieved reaching home at last but would tried to forget the tour experience by all means.

I have toured with many tour operators earlier, but never faced such worst situation, rather this was the worst experience for me on an organized tour! I would personally suggest to avoid any tour with Classik. Otherwise, you might have to be ready for many hidden surprises from them. Some of the surprises you might experience are:

>> Return trip arrangement:

This was the most traumatic experience we had as explained above. Lucky enough we managed some alternate travel arrangements. But they neither bother to tell us the truth nor had any sympathy with us for the trouble and problem we faced. It was like OK to them!!!

>> Cheap Hotel Selection:

During booking process, they assured good quality accommodation but in reality we got accommodation almost in the remote place at every tour location at Pahelgaon, Katra and New Delhi. Only it was bit convenient in Srinagar.

>> Food:

One of the reasons for most of customers select a package tour is the food. Indeed they provided bengali style food, but it was very very spicy always, not too good for health specially when within a long tour and everybody was cautious about heath. There was no snacks or anything even in between long transfer journey (10 hours) from Pahelgam to Katra.
