How customers are cheated

Dear AIRTEL DTH Customers,

This mail I am writing to share my experience with AIRTEL DTH. Every user of AIRTEL DTH may experience or get experienced (Because NO CUSTOMER CAN ESCAPE). I brought the AIRTEL connection in mid of 2011 and recharged for Rs.3000/- for one year and got a 2 Months extra free. And this year also I have recharged for another Rs.3000/- because everything is fine till last month.

From last few days my STB is not receiving the signals from my AIRTEL remote. I logged a compliant to AIRTEL and after 2 weeks I found that there is no case is raised for my call. Then I came to know there will be a case ID issued for every compliant and I logged a compliant to AIRTEL Call center with case ID received on my registered mobile. Next day I got a call from one of the technician about his visit and fixed appointment. He didn’t come at the time specified and in the night I got a message that “ YOUR ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED” and case is closed. I am surprised and called to Call Center and asked how? it is Resolved. They replied that I didn’t pick the phone of the technician who called me after the scheduled time.

Then I logged another case ID. This time they came to home and found that the STB needs to be replaced and the charges are Rs.850. After 2 days with follow ups they replaced the STB with another one which is 3-4 years old/dusty/Dented/ repaired couple of times. I asked them again that this box is looks like it is going to die in few days as it is pretty old. There is life time period for every electronic equipment and it runs according to. I asked them if this box is not functional after 2-3 months what I should do. He said repeat the proces log a call, Pay Rs.850/- you will get another old box works for some time (Based on your luck) and failed. Again Story will be repeated.

So it means you will pay the amount of Rs.850 for all these old STB boxes and they make money. I asked them to give the new one or at least mine repaired because it is not that much old and still has some life. They replied that this is the way they do the business and when I asked for disconnection they are very happy and sent 2 Case IDs (17091251, 17091242) for disconnection, received messages of disconnection before closing my call itself.

Finally I found that it is a recurring scheme of payment to AIRTEL DTH for 1) My Channels 2) OLD replaced STB Box 3) Every visit of the technician. This payments 2 & 3 can be either Monthly or Quarterly or Half Yearly or Yuearly is completely based on your Fate/Luck.

One more thing I forgot to mention “STILL IAM NOT GETTING MY CHANNELS” . i sent a mail to NODAL officer of AP and waiting for reply. i will update you all with latest soon.
